Kickoff training at Riverside Park

We’re running a hands-on orientation this Saturday, 9–11 am, to prep volunteers for our litter-to-compost pilot and native plant stewardship. If you’re new, I’ll cover tool safety, waste-sorting protocols, and how to log impact data; returning folks, chime in if you can mentor a small group. Comment if you’re in or have questions about accessibility or gear, and I’ll set you up.

I’m in for Saturday 9–11 and can mentor a small group. A tip from past runs: clip a small ‘contam’ bag to your bucket so stray plastics stay out of the compost and the ‘waste-sorting protocols’ go faster. If it’s muddy, I swap the hoe for a hori-hori around natives to avoid root damage.

Count me in to mentor a small group; for “native plant stewardship,” I mark my trowel at 6" with blue tape so plugs hit the right depth. If it’s muddy and the tape slips, I swap to a hori‑hori for better leverage.
