Effective Training for New Volunteers

I’ve noticed that training new volunteers can be challenging, especially when different people learn in various ways. We want to ensure everyone feels confident and capable, so I’d love to share resources and strategies that have worked for our team. Do any of you have tips on how to make training engaging and effective, or maybe a particular tool that’s helped you?

You’re spot on about the challenges of training! I’ve found that incorporating some hands-on activities really boosts engagement; it’s like trying to learn to ride a bike without getting on one first. Have you tried using role-playing scenarios?

Training can definitely feel like herding cats! I’ve found that using role-playing scenarios really helps volunteers relate to real situations, making them feel more prepared. Have you tried that approach, @isabel_morris92?
